A Place to Call Home

A Place to Call Home

Searching for a home for Chosen and Cherished has proved to be a more overwhelming task than I originally imagined! After spending countless hours driving around, wandering the mountain on foot and simply stopping on the side of the road to ask people in that particular neighborhood if they knew of any houses for rent we came across the most perfect home.

We had looked at dozens of other houses before this one and the answer was always the same, “Well we could make this work.”

We had looked at dozens of other houses before this one and the answer was always the same, “Well we could make this work.” This final place worked for us. A nice size yard wraps around the house with high safe walls securing us in. The back yard is bursting with weighed down fruit trees while the front has a nice paved area for a game of basketball! The inside of the home is full of high ceilings and an open floor plan.

The house is equipped with a large living room space, that opens into the kitchen and carries on into the dining room. With five bedrooms and an office space the house is perfect for Chosen and Cherished Ministries. The set up of the home, the outside property, the location and space matched everything we were looking for.

I met with the landlord, we started to negotiate a rental price, and went over all the finishing touches the house still needed. We are continuing to meet several times a month and trying to get this house ready to make it ours! We have prayed over this house and asked God to allow us to call this our home. With His blessing we have continued to move forward in securing it. Last week the ten kids and I headed out on a walk to the new location. Some masons were working on the home and invited us in to see it.

The crowd went wild as Winzor dashed from room to room bragging on the space and where his seat at the dinner table would be. Dayana bragged that she would plop down on the back left corner of the living room to watch Saturday night movie night and Iverson squealed with delight as he noticed there was plenty of room for back flips in the back yard.

It was such a surreal moment as this somewhat dysfunctional yet incredible forever family walked through what we are planning to call our future home!
