An estimated 9 yrs old Winzor had decaying gums and plaque built up on his permanent teeth so thick you could not see the enamel. As with the rest of his friends he was in shock, seeming a little dazed by the new environment around him. He stood a short 44.5 inches tall and the needle barely passed the big red 30 lbs mark on the scale. With no family history we will never know if his small size was due in part to genetics, or if years of malnutrition and neglect were solely responsible. He had a sense of urgency and unsureness at first, needing to push to be first in line, wanting to make sure he was seen and heard during bath time, meal time, structured play, fearful he would be left out or forgotten.
The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
Now - The Man of the House
Winzor, affectionately referred to as Ah-Kat, is a kind hearted sympathetic boy! At 15 years old this boy is living proof of what love can do. He has lost so much yet loves so hard. Winzor still continues to amaze those who have known him over the last seven years with his compassion and desire to take care of others. He aims to please and has healed far more than possibly predicted. His heart hurts for the “poor man” on the way to church and is concerned by the “dogs with no one to care for them.” He is keenly aware of the individual sufferings in the world. He has suffered and has every reason to choose bitterness and anger but this boy has chosen love and empathy.
